Information Security Architecture and Engineering - Senior Information Security Engineer
Position
Summary: The Senior Information Security Engineer is a member of the Information Security Architecture and Engineering team that is responsible for delivering security requirements andcoordinating information security risk assessments to ensure compliance withcorporate policy, standards, procedures and industry best practices. The engineer assesses risks associated with information security for both current and proposed projects; coordinates risk assessments from other groups and presents an overall risk assessment for the project; and consults as subject matter expert across the company with network architects, engineers and others on solutions.
The successful candidate will have strong communications skills and experience in presenting technical issues to a wide variety of audiences. In addition, the candidate must possess broad technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies used both within the corporate infrastructure and in delivering customer-facing services. This candidate must be able to work both independently and as a team member to develop and execute strategies and consult with internal clients on security topics, providing designs, reviews and recommendations in compliance with corporate policy, standards, procedures and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Assess potential risks with new applications and products and provide security requirements and recommendations for risk mitigation.
Consult with internal clients on security topics and policy interpretation.
Proactively identify higher risk areas of the corporate and carrier infrastructure for assessment.
Ensure reports and findings are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner to management, operations and executive leadership.
Provide consultation, recommendations and implementation advice on regulations and standards to the organization.
Recommend new security standards, best practices and system configuration standards.
Coordinate activities across multiple departments and business units.
# Job Requirements
Minimum
Qualifications:
5
years experience in performing security risk assessments and application, system and network security.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience in network and/or firewall engineering, administration, design and implementation including experience in applying methodologies and principles for all levels of security.
Applicable professional/technical certifications should be in place, or candidate must be willing to pursue.
Experience with technologies, tools and process controls to minimize risk and data exposure.
Must possess broad technical knowledge of current and emerging technologies used both within the corporate infrastructure and in delivering customer facing services.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience in presenting technical issues to all levels of management, as well as non-technical staff.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Professional/technical certifications, such as CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, GISEC, CISM or CISA.
Knowledge of information security industry and regulatory obligations (ISO 27001/27002, SOX, PCI, FISMA, HIPPA, NACHA, and SAE-16).
Application development and/or source code review experience in C/C++, C#, , ASP, PHP, or Java.
Knowledge of project management practices.
Experience in large Enterprise data centers and/or networks.
