2K a year Job Summary The Graduate Admissions Assistant is responsible for assisting the Coordinator of Graduate Admissions in organizing and maintaining admissions processes for the Graduate School.
The Graduate Admissions Assistant will also assist the Dean of the Graduate School in effective and efficient operations and provide enrollment services to academic colleges and departments.
In keeping with the 2016-2121 Strategic Plan, The Graduate Admissions Assistant will uphold the core values of diversity, excellence, integrity, and service while keeping commitment, accountability, innovation, efficiency, collaboration, and achievement as guiding principles.
Duties and Responsibilities Required duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist in overseeing admissions services for the Graduate School.
Establish, revise, and maintain efficient admissions practices that are compliant with institution, state, and federal regulations governing records retention and privacy.
Assist in processing all applications as assigned by the Coordinator of Graduate Admissions.
Run Argos reports weekly as needed by the Dean of the Graduate School.
Gathers and maintains Graduate School data.
Assist Manager of Operations in supervision of student workers and graduate assistants.
Assure compliance with university regulations regarding Graduate Assistant work schedule and access to records.
< > the Coordinator of Graduate Admissions with the creation and maintenance of paper and electronic files on graduate students.
Train with Coordinator of Graduate Admissions Services in all relevant processes and software utilization as needed.
Assist in greeting visitors, answering calls, and responding to inquiries.
Receive, retain, and evaluate transcripts and post to current campus-wide database through Banner and/or Recruit.
Consults with National Student Clearing house for students' higher education history.
Utilize ImageNow (or current secure document transfer system) to submit applicant files to program evaluators, and maintain student records.
Make all necessary corrections to admissions records in current campus-wide database and/or CRM.
Check any needed licensures, certifications, and accreditations required for applicants to graduate school.
Maintain effective and timely communication, as needed, with applicants and program coordinators on key issues that affect applicant admissions throughout the application process.
Respond promptly to communications from stakeholders and students Minimum Qualifications Must be computer literate, especially in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel Bachelor's degree Preferred Relevant work experience Excellent communication skills Possess skill and knowledge of campus systems including Banner, Argos, Excellent organizational skills Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
