The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the Veterans' population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion.
The primary objective of home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.
This position is located in the Administration Department of the Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe, Louisiana.

The pay rate for this position is based on the credentials of the applicant and applicants are strongly encouraged to enter all relevant job experience on the application prior to submission.

Qualifications:
A baccalaureate degree.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.
Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be honorably discharged veteran of the United States Armed Forces.
Service must have been on an active full time basis.

Reviews individual case files following U.

Department of Veterans Affairs rating action to determine compliance with current laws, rules and regulations as outlined in U.

Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims decisions, Title 38 United States Code, Title 38 code of Federal Regulations.
Examines medical information including but not limited to, service medical records, physical examinations, hospital reports and post-operative reports, and determines degree of residual disability for comparison with U.

Department of Veterans Affairs assignment.
Initiates formal appellant proceedings, and/or otherwise advise the claimant take specific action to obtain a proper rating, as necessary.
Prepares written arguments on behalf of claimant for review and presentation before the U.

Department of Veterans Affairs.
Attends all training and continuing education classes to maintain accreditation.
Attends meetings and briefings with various U.
S.
Veterans Affairs Regional Office and Medical Center personnel to keep abreast of policy changes and to offer input on suggestions for improvement to the system of delivering benefits.
Maintains current records on all transactions and files correspondence in veterans files or other proper places:
prepares and submits periodic written reports reflecting the total office production.
Maintains office safety records, reference manuals, and office equipment.
Participates with veterans organizations to disseminate information regarding the Department and its' mission.
Promotes public interest by participating in conferences, speaking engagements and meetings.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
